Once you uninstall the IntelliPoint software, the scroll wheel will work in iTunes, but the scroll speed is inconsistent and borderline unusable. With the IntelliPoint software installed (which you need to program the buttons), the scroll wheel just will not work in iTunes (at least on my Vista desktop). For me, this is most annoying when using iTunes. The one knock I will say is that because the scroll wheel is the 'clickless' type, it runs into issues with some types of software. I also love the programmable side buttons, which can be set to many useful commands (I have one set to Minimize, and it seriously enhances my workflow). Though many will initially balk at its somewhat awkward shape, once one gets used to it, it' s very hard to go back to traditional mouses. I' ve been using it for the past 2 or 3 years or so, and I' m consistently pleased with just how comfortable it is. I would recommend that if you have an open USB port, keep your original mouse plugged in for guests.įor those of you looking for an ergonomic mouse, the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 should be at the top of your list. That may be a good thing for some people. Also, none of your co-workers will ever borrow your PC. Having two just makes it last longer and connect better to the receiver. Not a big deal, but worth knowing.Also, it works with only one battery installed. You need to put your finger on the front of the wheel and pull back.
It is a fantastic workhorse for office work.The middle click is kind of kookie. This is NOT a gaming mouse, and I wouldn' t recommended it for that purpose ever. I bought it when I was having carpal tunnel type issues doing lots of office work at my desk. Afterward, you would wonder how you ever lived without this baby.I bought my wife the same mouse, and told her to give it two weeks. Your wrist and forearm will be sore during those two weeks. 'Important detail' it takes about two weeks to get accustomed to it. He said it isn' t flashy or anything, but it is the most comfortable mouse for getting work done. It takes two weeks to get used to.I heard Josh Topolsky talk about it on the Engadget podcast, three years ago. This thing is big, clunky, and absolutely wonderful.
